| THE BRIEF: Cougar Industries first used Procom to organise their communications between their head office in Berkhamstead and multiple smaller sites across the country. Data was shared through dial up option links, and site numbering schemes were organised so that calls to other sites were set up as extension numbers. Following the events of 2001 Cougar had to sell off some of their remote sites. We handled this by arranging for calls to the old numbers to be redirected into the main site and the main system was programmed to show those calls when they came into the building. Thus they knew who their Manchester site clients were for instance before they even started to talk. For the client it was simply business as usual. Procom’s flexible installation not only fulfilled Cougar’s original requirements, but also significant and unexpected changes to the business. The impacts of 2001 are now a just a memory for Cougar and they are back on the up. During the last year we have re-organised their Internet access and brought their internet domain names right up to date. We have also set up low cost secure links via the Internet so that from a data point of view the sites are one. Next we shall do the same with the telephone. |
