Following an electronics course at Loughborough Technical College, Tim Huckle’s working life began as a design technician with a linear motor development team at Brush Electrical Machines in Loughborough, and then with De La Rue Systems as an International Support Engineer travelling to central banks throughout the world supporting a range of high speed money counting machines.

A move into selling mini computer systems with GEC in 1981 led to Tim being Salesman of the Year at Systime Computers in 1985, exceeding sales of £1.5M into strategic accounts such as BT. This period of work added an appreciation of business needs to the strong support ethic of ensuring that the customer is up and running as soon as possible – whatever it takes.

Almost inevitably Tim was keen to “do his own thing” and in 1986 formed Procom (Installations) Ltd with Peter Evans, a colleague and friend.
